Do the words "it is finished" actually resonate with you?
When you fail or falter are you thinking about these very words?
As a Christian redeemed and purchased by the justifiable blood of the lamb are you focusing on your mistake and magnifying your sin, or are you meditating on His promise that He has PAID for your sin in full?
Whether or not it "feels" as though you are forgiven in the moment of failure and shame does not identify you before the Father God...... HIS SACRIFICE DOES!!!!
If our sin is the director of our spiritual status rather than His sacrifice, then its not about His sovereignty but our unfaithfulness.
How big is the God you serve?
Joshua 1: 9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go,.

Walking the Talk
We as Christians sure can talk the talk; Sanctification, Omnipotence, Servant, but do we really walk the walk? When it comes down to it, are we actually willing to BOLDLY declare the truth of God to a world veiled in it's darkness? Are we willing to get our hands dirty in order to see the "crop" of God's field? Do our lives affect others to be more Christlike? Think of it this way. If people you came in contact with relied solely on what you said, how you acted and what YOU taught them, would it be Biblically accurate? This may sound as though it's FAR to much to ask from a lowly sinner saved by Grace BUT that's exactly what took place in Thessalonica amongst the first generation believers!!! Paul delivered the Word of God when visiting, then followed with a letter that said....
1 Thessalonians 1:7-10
New King James Version (NKJV)
"7 so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe. 8 For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything. 9 For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."
The people of Thessalonica were so affected by Paul's visit, sharing and example that, before he could even follow up with a letter of direction, they were already bearing fruit of the Spirit!
So the question is...... Is your life an example to sinners?

Food and Fun Run
Chetwynd Community Church is pleased to be sponsoring the first annual motorcycle food and fun to support the Burk's Falls food bank.
Originally scheduled for Sept. 7th, the cool and rainy weather caused the date to be changed to Oct. 5th.

The ride will end at the church parking lot for refreshments.
Participants are asked to bring non-perishable items for the food bank. Cash donations will also be gratefully accepted.

We look around us and we see pain, loss, destruction. Billows and tumults roll and violently slap our conscious and, far to often, our minds and bodies. As the world offers us false truths filled with an elixir of moral poison in exchange for our souls....... God offers Hope!
He offers us an exchange.
Your life for mine!!!
I will not promise you that your life will become effortless and smooth, but when life curves and slopes dislodge what you once trusted or depended on, I can promise that GOD will comfort you!!!!
When He went to that cross, He released the possibility of an intimacy that has no earthly comparison. An intimacy given so that we can be comforted, healed and directed. Given so that we can see the value and power of a Savior God who is part of our lives, and will continually be until our graduation to mansions upward and glorious.
So please...... Do look at the world and see her for the deceptive mistress she is, and come experience the Love and Grace of God.

A Word From Our Pastor-Avoiding Deception
2 Thessalonians 2:9-11
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
I came across this scripture while during one of my daily Bible readings. It stood out to me with some of my recent sermons (and conversations with my father) that it is becoming difficult to tell a deceived soul from a Spirit filled soul.
My father cited BIBLICAL examples where Holy Spirit filled christians would cast demons out of unbelievers, perform other healing miracles and actively function in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.
With that in mind we also read from Matt 7, 2 Thessalonians, and other parts of the new testament where people who DO NOT KNOW God also function in similar ways. (Matthew 7:22) (2 thess 2:9) (Matt 17:4)
I only mention this to share my own conclusion on the thought and application of Truth in my life.
I never have to wonder if it's God's Will for me to read His Word
I never have to wonder if it's God's will to serve at my church
I never have to wonder if it's God's will to love my wife and son
I will NEVER be deceived by God's Word in it's context
And I will NEVER be deceived by God!!!
Acts 17:11
King James Version (KJV)
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
